Robin Ave Neighbourhood Commons

The Aviary Cafe

The Aviary Cafe was birthed in 2019 to help address food security and accessibility, social isolation and on the job training and employment pathways for those who live in Norlane. As a social enterprise, The Aviary helps contribute and support grass roots community development work in Geelongs North.

Grow, Cook, Eat

In partnership with Deakin University, Grow Cook Eat offers the 3214 community affordable, nutritious take-home dinners through a participatory membership model. Members join in meal preparation or vegetable gardening weekly, enhancing food literacy and gardening skills while fostering community connections.

Better -Together

Our Better Together project brings people from our community together weekly for crafts, games, and other activities. The goal is to alleviate social isolation among older people by fostering deeper relationships and connections within our neighbourhood.

Monday Night Meals

Bringing together over 100 people each week, Monday Night Meals is our oldest and longest community led initiative. Through the simple act of sharing a meal together, we can help build meaningful relationships, ensure individuals and families have access to nutritious meals, and create a deep sense of community and belonging for those in our neighbourhood.

Goodness & Grains

Goodness to Grains provides discounted organic and whole food products to the Norlane community. With no specialised organic food sellers in Northern Geelong, this program offers affordable healthy options, increases local access, and enhances education and community connections.

Fruit & Veg Mini Mart

In partnership with Geelong Food Relief, we facilitate local volunteers to run a local fruit and veg minimart once a week for people to access via a small donation
